Reset Password on Remote Desktop Server Overview When a password is expired or set to change at next logon, the remote desktop server will not allow you to sign-in Before your password expires or when signing-in with the provided password for the first time, follow the instructions below to remotely reset your password: Instructions Sign in with your temporary (or current) password Connect to the Remote Desktop server as usual, or if first time connecting, follow the instructions found here. Sign in with your temporary (or current) password Use the temporary password given to you, or your current password if it hasn’t expired yet. Once connected, press Ctrl + Alt + End Click on "Change a password" Enter the following information: Old password: Your temporary or current password New password: Choose a new password Confirm password: Re-type the new password to confirm Click the arrow or press Enter to submit You’ll see a confirmation if the password was successfully changed Log off and sign in again using your new password Wait a few minutes for the change to sync with Microsoft 365 Your new password will also be used for email, Teams, OneDrive, and other Microsoft 365 services. If you were signed in to these services on another device, you may need to sign in again with the new password.
