Connect to Hanline Group Remote Desktop Server Overview The Hanline Group Remote Desktop Server allows approved associates to remotely access various Hanline Group resources. This server uses a Remote Desktop Gateway to allow you to access the server without connecting to the Hanline Group VPN first. You can only reach the Remote Desktop Gateway when accessing it from an approved location or from a specially-provided VPN connection. You will be prompted for Duo approval one or two times when trying to connect to the Remote Desktop Gateway. When signing-in to https://rds.hanlinegroup.com/rdweb, you will be redirected to a Duo prompt. When connecting to the Remote Desktop Gateway using the downloaded shortcut, you will receive a Duo notification on your phone, but you will not see any indication on screen. Important Note You must have the Duo Mobile app activated on a mobile device to access the Remote Desktop Gateway. You can only connect using the Duo push notification on your phone. You cannot connect using any other method, such as an SMS code. Connection Instructions Open a web browser and go to https://rds.hanlinegroup.com/rdweb/. Enter your username and password and then click Sign in: For "Domain\user name," enter rshanline\UserName The username should be the first half of your email address before the @ symbol. For "Password," enter your Microsoft 365/Windows password After you click Sign in, you will receive a Duo prompt On your mobile device, tap the notification from Duo or open the Duo Mobile app, and then tap Approve. A remote desktop shortcut will download, which you should see in the Downloads menu in the top-right corner of Google Chrome. Click to open the remote desktop shortcut Note: After clicking the shortcut, you can also find the downloaded file by going to your Downloads folder. After opening the downloaded shortcut, you will be asked if you trust the publisher. You can click to check the option Don't ask me again for remote connections from this publisher and then click Connect. Enter your username and password again. Once again, enter your username like rshanline\Username and your Microsoft 365/Windows password. Click OK. The Remote Desktop Connection will attempt to connect. HOWEVER, it will not connect until you approve one more Duo notification. During this stage, it will say Initiating remote connection… You will not see a Duo prompt on screen. While it says Initiating remote connection, check your mobile device for a Duo notification. Tap the notification or open Duo Mobile and then tap Approve for the Microsoft RD Gateway logon. After signing-in and approving the Duo notifications, it will begin connecting. On your PC, it will now say Securing remote connection… right before connecting Finally, you will be connected to the remote desktop server, where you can open Famous ERP or McLeod in Production. All other applications (Web browser, RingCentral, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, etc.) can be opened on your local PC. You can minimize the remote desktop connection by clicking the _ button on the blue bar. Disconnecting To disconnect from the RDS, do not click the X button on the blue bar. Instead, click the Windows Start Menu and then click your name and click Sign out.
