Workaround for "Print to Carrier" when printing from an Outlook email Issue When attempting to use the "Print to Carrier" printer from an Outlook email, the text gets smashed into a single line on each page: Workaround Overview The email can be opened in Microsoft Edge, where it can be printed with the correct formatting. By default, Microsoft Edge will display the email incorrectly, but this can be fixed by enabling Internet Explorer mode. Instructions Enable Internet Explorer Mode in Microsoft Edge Before emails can be opened correctly in Microsoft Edge, you will first need to enable Internet Explorer mode in the settings. Note: this is a one-time change Open Microsoft Edge In the address bar, enter the following site: edge://settings/defaultbrowser On this page, change the option to "allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode (IE mode)" to Allow Click Restart to reload Microsoft Edge (this does not restart your PC) When opening emails in a web browser from Outlook they should now appear correctly: Before: After: View and print email from Microsoft Edge After you allow Microsoft Edge to open in Internet Explorer mode, you can then view and print emails in a web browser Open Outlook and double-click on the email you want to print to imaging In the ribbon at the top, click Actions and View in Browser The email should open in Microsoft Edge. Click the . . . (ellipses) button at the top and click Print (or just press Ctrl+P) Choose the "Print to Carrier" printer and then click Print When it prints to imaging, the email should now retain the original formatting
